Maxine Elaine Morris 1917 - 2010

Maxine Elaine Morris, 92, Pattonsburg, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 in St. Joseph, Mo.

She was born Sept. 30, 1917 in Pattonsburg, Mo., the daughter of Olin and Bernice (Vance) Meadows.

On Dec. 6, 1936, she married Woodrow Morris in Pattonsburg, Mo. He survives at the home. Maxine and Woodrow owned and operated the Imperial Oil Service Station in Pattonsburg for many years. The new town of Pattonsburg was built on land owned by Maxine and Woodrow and a plaque was placed in the park in their honor. Maxine was an avid basketball and football fan and was given free admission for life to all sports activities at the school. She was a member of the Oak Ridge Christian Church.

Survivors in addition to her husband are sisters, Betty (Charlie) Eastwood, Goodlettsville, Tenn., Dorlene Munn, Bethany, Mo., and Janet Stitt, St. Joseph, Mo.; five nieces, three nephews, 19 great-nieces and 18 great-nephews.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 27, at the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, Mo. Burial in Bethel Cemetery, Pattonsburg, Mo. The family received friends from 6-8 Monday at the funeral home.
