Gallatin First Christian

Pastor Russ Hamilton gave the message, "Listen Carefully," from Psalm 85:8-13 and Colossians 2:6-15. Barbara Wilson gave the children’s messages. Prayer meeting and Bible study will be cancelled this week due to VBS. VBS is from 6-9 p.m., with the program at 7:30 p.m. We are collecting spiral bound notebooks for the Back to School supply drive being held by Access II – donations can be placed in a tote in the foyer.

If you are a child (or the parent of) who is interested in serving as an Acolyte (candle lighter) at early service, please contact Sue Bird or Pastor Russ Hamilton. Additions to our prayer wheel include the family of Morgan Warner, Doug Slayton, and Richard Brown.

Lake Viking

Rev. Alvin Hillman was the guest speaker Sunday. Rev. Hillman has been in the ministry for 50 years and was the pastor of Lake Viking Church for almost 15 years. Sunday morning his message was "It's His Call," from I Corinthians 12. Alvin shared with the congregation how he came to Christ at the age of 12 and was called to the ministry at the age of 32. Mark Beeson sang "This Old House" and "When the Saints Go Marching In"

Youth group meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 pm. Everyone is invited to attend. We have classes for all ages. Wednesday morning the Ladies Bible Study Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday evening the adult Bible study group will meet at 7 p.m.

Gallatin First Baptist

Sunday morning worship message was brought by Bro. Marty on "We are God’s Greatest Creation," from Genesis 2:7 and Sunday evening "We Have a Purpose - God Has Great Plans for You," from Ephesians 2:10.

A very successful VBS was concluded on Friday night with a packed house to enjoy the program. There was an average of 90 plus children attending each night of the week.

We have two members of our church on mission his week in Colorado doing general carpentry work at a working retreat camp. One of our Sunday School classes has a float trip scheduled for Aug. 7-8 and children’s camp at Grand Oaks is Aug. 9-13. There are five people going from here.

Pattonsburg and Heath UMC

John Jegeris’ message was "The Truth Is, Jesus is the Truth," based on Colossians 2:5-23.

Remember in prayer the family of Morgan Warner, Virgil Albert, Doug Albert, Frances Lowery, Roseanna Parmenter, Vera Hillyard, Jerry Burress Jr., Sam Kerstetter, Troy Burchfield, Gary Wynne, Louise Bayne, and the family of Maxine Morris.

Gallatin United Methodist

The message was "Prayer" by Mark Morehouse, from Matthew 6:3-15. V.B.S. is from 9-11 a.m. July 27-28-29 on "The Life of Moses." Becky Morehouse blessed the congregation with a vocal special. Sign up for snacks for Sunday morning.

Kirbie Crouse, Sara Lin and Kaitlyn McNeely were baptized at Lake Viking. Please remember your Meals on Wheels delivery dates.

Prayer concerns: John Woods Jr., Ray Willis, Marlene Allen, Wilbur Sullenger, Dot Mahoney, Ron Ford, Lisa Feigly, Jim Wright, the family of Jean Taylor and the family of Morgan Warner.

Pattonsburg Christian

Scripture reading was from Titus 3: 1-8. Guest speaker Bro. Landon McCoy's message was "Six Great Men in the Bible." There will be a revival Aug. 1, 2 and 3 with Richard Green, a world renowned evangelist.

Remember in prayer Roseanna Parmenter, Vera Hillyard, Pauline Plowman, Francis Wynne Bridgeman, Woodrow Morris, Doug Albert and Clyde Hulet.

Our prayers are with the Morgan Warner and Maxine Morris families in this their time of loss.

Gallatin Presbyterian

Rev. Nordvall finished his sermons on the Ten Commandments, with #10 being Checking Your Desires." Scripture lesson was from Colossians 3:1-5 and read by Chris Diaz. Our church will be hosting the birthday party at the nursing home at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 29.

We continue to offer up prayers for Darlene Macintosh, Pat Jefferson, Jo Rosseter, LaRue Myers and Bobbie Jefferson.

Gallatin Assembly of God

The adult Sunday School class discussed the relationships of King David and God from II Samuel 22 with Greg Lint leading the discussion. The singing was led by Larrie Terry, Zane Smith and Mona Roberts. Lita Terry and Daniel Butts presented a puppet skit with the BGMC (Boys and Girls for Missions) puppet Buddy Barrel and friends. The children collected missionary offering for BGMC.

Pray for Doug Slaten, June Williams, Gerald and Nelda Carlson, Joyce Hudson, Pearl Hager and Tina Hager. Pastor Wayne Smith’s sermon "Have You Lost Your Gourd?" was from Jonah 4. VBS graduation was Sunday night. They sang songs from VBS. Danielle Dutro and Gloria Lint co-ordinated the VBS.

Altamont United Methodist

Tyler Huffman from North Dakota was a welcome visitor. Mission moment was on Suzanna Wesley Foundation helping the needy. Laurie Walton Roll attended a lay leadership program over the weekend at Central Methodist College in Fayette. Children’s time sermon was "Always Say a Prayer."

All signed a get well card for Pastor Marilyn’s grandson Philip Gilmor. Pastor’s message was "When You Don’t Have a Prayer." Gospel reading was "Seek and Find," from Luke 11:1-13.

Prayer needs: Doug Slatten, son-in-law of Larry and Reva Burke, Larry McFee, Marlene Allen and Francie Toney. Our sympathy is to the family of Ica Uthe Deiter.

Jameson Baptist

Bro. Andy Lynn’s morning message as "The Right Tool," from Acts 17:1-9. Special music was by Jacob Loftin. Aug. 9-13 is children’s camp at Grand Oaks. Aug. 14 is Men’s Prayer Breakfast at Princeton.

Prayer needs: Vicki Wheeler, Sonna Walker, Marvin Landes, Ray Carder, Clara Mae Yoder, Betty Rouner, Vera Hillyard, Peggy Sperry, Roberta Adee, Margaret Meseberg and the Feigley family. Sympathy is extended to the family of Morgan Warner.

Fairview Community

Sisters Betty and Dixie opened services with Betty leading hymns and Dixie reading from Acts 8:1-8.

Sunday School studied "Standing Firm" from II Thessalonians 2:9-17.

Bro. Davis' message was " The Sermon" from Matthew 5:1-11.

The joint VBS starts Monday at 5:30 p.m. Come on over to First Baptist Church at Winston. All kids and parents are welcome.

Special prayer requests are for Beth Hollifield, Vern Bridgman, Mary Parkhurst, Warner family, Dieter family and Velma Wolf.

Pattonsburg Baptist

Bro. Jeremiah brought the message from I Peter 3:18, Exodus 19:7-25 and 20:18-21. Testimonies and praises for VBS were shared during the morning worship service. Tuesday at 7 p.m. is jail ministry; Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. is prayer meeting; Thursday at 9 a.m. is cookie day at Lake Viking Health Care Center.

A Sunday School teachers’ meeting will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 1. Prayer concerns: Peggy Sperry, Tammy Whitt, the family of Morgan Warner, and the family of Maxine Morris.

Olive Baptist Church

Brother David's Sunday morning message was "Believe and See the Glory of God," from John 11. Sarah Ishmael's children's message was "Beloved of God" from Mark 9:7.

Sunday evening Brother Ramsey led session two from The Truth Project entitled "Philosophy and Ethics." We would like to again extend an invitation to anyone who is interested in these sessions to feel welcome to attend. They are held each Sunday evening at 7 at the church.

We enjoyed a week at the Saddle Ridge Ranch Bible School last week. We had good attendance and are very thankful for all of the leaders, teachers, and workers who committed to serve during this special week.
