Kidder’s sesquicentennial will be held with the Kidder Picnic, scheduled Aug. 5-8 at the city park.Activities will begin at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, with an informal program of bingo, a cakewalk, and games in the Kidder Park pavilion. A Little Mister and Miss Kidder Contest will follow at 7 p.m. After the contest, Kirk Lee and the Bluegrass Tornadoes will entertain the crowd. The program on Friday, Aug. 6, again begins with bingo and games at 2 p.m, followed by a horseshoe pitching contest at 5 p.m., a talent show at 6:30 p.m., and music and dancing to The Fabulous Torques from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, opens with an 8 a.m. horse show, an 8:30 a.m. pet parade, a 10 a.m. grand parade, and a Northwest Dance Academy show at 11 a.m. A baby show starts at 1 p.m. Other events set for 1 p.m. include horseshoe pitching, a garden tractor pull, and games and races for kids. Another informal program starts at 2 p.m. and a sidewalk chalk art contest will be held at 4 p.m. There will be a Tae Kwon Do demonstration at 6:30 and a veterans tribute at 7:30 p.m. Wayne Hoover and the Countrysiders will play from 8-11 p.m. Sunday’s program includes a 10:30 a.m. community worship service, a pork chop dinner at noon, an antique tractor pull and a jam session at 1 p.m. Comments?
