The 119th Jameson Picnic is slated for Aug. 12, 13, and 14 at the Jameson city park. Many of the events are still in the traditional time slots; however, the baby show will be Friday evening this year.

The Jameson Picnic kicks off on Thursday, Aug. 12, with the local talent show. Registration for the talent show begins at 5:30 with the show to begin at 6 p.m. There is no registration fee, and the show is open to all ages. Prizes will be awarded. There will be a Zumba demonstration following the talent show, and the evening will be capped off with "Kirk and Mary Lee and The Bluegrass Tornados."

Registration for the baby show begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, and there is still no registration fee. There are five age groups for both boys and girls and the Little Mr. & Miss contest for three and four year olds. Following the baby show will be "The Fabulous Torque’s" playing music from the ‘50s and ‘60s.

Saturday, Aug. 14, begins with the parade at an earlier time. Parade registration and lineup will begin at 10 a.m. at the high school with the parade to follow at 11 a.m. A special dinner/meal will be served following the parade. Registration for the Club 180 races begins at noon. This ATV horseshoe drag race begins at 1:30. Games for kids of all ages begin at 1 p.m. The auction begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the regional band, "Dammit Jim" playing country and classic rock music.

A free drawing for many donated prizes will be held every night after the entertainment. Mustang Amusements will be back again this year. Remember to bring your lawn chair and plan on seeing many of your friends back for this annual event. As always, plan to eat here! There will be those famous tenderloins and delicious homemade pies.

Mark your calendars for this great annual event Aug. 12, 13 and 14. For more information, contact Jim or Jan Duly at 660-663-3520 or Leota Snyder at 660-828-4338.
