In an effort to make this holiday season a little brighter the Gallatin Police have joined together with Green Hills Community Action Agency, the Adventist Community Service Center and the United States Marine Corps to bring the Toys for Tots program back to the Gallatin area this year.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

Chief Richards delivered collection boxes and donation jars to several Gallatin businesses last week. Current drop off locations include Pamida, Dollar General, Dungy’s Market, Casey’s General Store, Frost Automotive, Breadeaux Pizza and Gallatin City Hall.

Anyone wishing to make a donation can drop off new, unwrapped toys to any of the drop off boxes located in the Gallatin businesses. Businesses wishing to become a drop off point can contact the Gallatin Police Department at 660-663-3580.
