Access II Independent Living Center is hosting its 3rd Annual "disABILITY Awareness Day" from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22. This event will feature a variety of service providers, exhibitors, free health screenings and numerous indoor and outdoor activities. In its effort to increase awareness about disabilities to its communities, officials in each of the Access II Independent Living Center service area counties have signed proclamations designating Disability Awareness Day as Oct. 22. Attendees on Oct. 22 will enjoy exhibits from the Missouri Agrability program and Missouri Highway Patrol. Those attending can participate in Cow Pie Bingo provided by Gallatin High School Pride Band. At 1:30, there will be an educational performance about disabilities by the Kids on the Block Puppet Troupe. A free will donation lunch of soup or chili will be provided by the Daviess County Active Aging Resource Center.
